  • sheet plywood 120x250x0.95 cm (2 sheets),

  • sheet of masonite (hardboard) 120x250x0.65 cm (1 sheet),
  • wooden board 20x100x250 cm (7 pcs.),
  • steel sheet 45x120x0.65 cm (1 pc.),
  • steel pipe 19 x 120 x 0.6 cm (1 pc.),
  • 41 mm screws
  • 63 mm long screws.

Masonite - this name is included in the list of modern building materials. Masonite is made in the form of siding panels, which are distinguished by high strength indicators.

Such panels, structurally partially composed of wood with the addition of artificial components, have a smooth smooth surface. Available in a wide range of colors and in several dimensional variations.

Hardboard is a type of material from a series of fiberboards. It differs from classical fiberboard in more pronounced properties of the hardness of the structure. It is under the name "hardboard" that material is not found on sale.

In any case, the regulatory documentation does not even contain a similar name. Material structure: dense smooth wood-fiber board with decorative finish on one side.

Materials like masonite and hardboard are widely used in modern construction for lining the walls and ceilings of buildings. Also, materials are used under the bases for flooring, for the manufacture of partitions, furniture, containers and other products.

Here is a list of tools that must be used in the implementation of the project:

  • building tape
  • a simple pencil
  • a circular saw,
  • different diameters of the drill.

Cutting boards and ramp panels

After collecting all the necessary materials for the skateboard ramp, they begin the construction process by cutting boards to size.

It is necessary to prepare 13 pieces of 120 cm each from the seven available boards. Next, you need to cut from two sheets of 19 mm plywood blanks according to the patterns shown in the picture below.

All dimensions shown are subject to adjustment. It is not excluded the manufacture of a larger or opposite to a smaller body of the springboard for a skateboard.

However, all changes must be maintained taking into account the required proportions. Otherwise, there is a risk of spoiling the entire project or, even worse, creating a structure that is dangerous for practical use.

Marking the radius of the cut of the springboard

There are several ways to mark the cutout radius on plywood sheets. One of them is as follows:

  1. Take the remaining board 2.5 m long. Having departed from the end of the board 10 mm, drill a hole with a diameter of 6-8 mm in the center.
  2. From the center of the drilled hole, measure along the board a distance equal to the radius of the transition, that is, 1.8 m.
  3. At this point, with a uniform indent from the edges, screw a screw into the body of the board (to gain without punching).
  4. Take the canvas 19 mm plywood and place on a flat surface. Next to it, with the long sides back to back, lay the second 9 mm thick plywood sheet. Place linings under this plywood sheet so that both sheets are flush with the upper horizon.
  5. Take a previously prepared 2.5 meter board with a screw, put it on plywood and screw the screw into a 9 mm sheet of plywood at the point as shown in the picture below.

Insert a pencil into the free hole of the board and draw the radius along the plywood plane to draw a cutout radius.

After marking is completed, carefully cut the pattern exactly along the marked line. Based on the resulting template, make a duplicate.

Creating a skateboard springboard frame

In fact, the most difficult part of the project has already been implemented. It's time to build the skeleton ramp for skateboard lessons.

It is recommended to start this work from the moment of fastening the lower and upper jumpers between the panels of 19 mm plywood. These are two jumpers from among those 13 boards that were prepared earlier. Then you need to install the remaining jumpers, according to the drawing below.

Metal pipe installation

Different methods of attaching a metal pipe to the skeleton springboard frame can be used. The simplest one is used here - screw fastening. It is necessary to drill holes in the walls of the steel pipe with a total of 6 pieces.

The first three holes with a diameter of 5 mm are drilled on one side of the pipe. One with a slight indent from the edge (15-20 mm). Second in the center of the pipe. And the next one is at the opposite end of the pipe.

Strictly symmetrical to these holes, 3 more need to be drilled on the opposite side. They will be of a larger diameter (slightly larger than the diameter of the head of the mounting screws).

In this way, a metal pipe is fixed to the ramp. The method differs in some difficulties at the initial moment, but in general is quite simple and easy.

The prepared pipe should be placed on the upper outer corner of the skateboard springboard. Holes of larger diameter should be located on top. Through them, pass the screws and screw them to the wooden lintel. As a result, we get the following construction:

Do-it-yourself skateboard upper ramp flooring is made from pieces of a sheet of 19 mm plywood that were previously cut according to the pattern. These two pieces are stacked next to each other and secured with screws 41 mm around the perimeter.

Now, from a 9 mm plywood, you need to cut a piece measuring 170x120 cm. Place this piece on the radius of the cutout and, starting from the outer upper corner, where the steel pipe lies, fix it with 41 mm screws on the long sides and narrow sides.

In the next step, cut off another piece of plywood 9 mm thick, 175x120 cm in size. This will be the second skateboard ramp overlay. Fix it along the perimeter with screws every 20 cm.

Masonite ramp lining

Now you need to cut a piece of masonite 140x120 cm and attach it in the same way as the last two layers of plywood, starting from the border of the steel pipe. Be sure to apply the method of countersinking holes for the heads of the screws.

After installing this third layer, it is advisable to check the height of the metal pipe relative to the level of the springboard cover. The value of the measured parameter must not exceed 10 mm.

However, some skateboard enthusiasts prefer a bigger way out. This can be fixed - temporarily remove the pipe, put linings and put the pipe in place.

Making a skateboard ramp threshold

If the dimensions of all the parts are sustained during the construction of the springboard under the skateboard, the distance from the lower boundary of the masonite to the boundary of the earth should be about 45 cm. This remaining part of the springboard is closed with a steel sheet and fixed with screws.

Operation and storage of ramps at home

Having completed the construction of the ramp for skateboard lessons, you should carefully inspect the product. All screw heads that were used as fasteners must be hidden flush with the surface of the ramp.

It is recommended that the same check be repeated after the first few days of the ski jumping operation and periodically in the future. Poorly tightened screws that come out are a risk of serious injury.

For the convenience of using a springboard under a skateboard, you can equip the structure with a pair of small rubber wheels by attaching them to the rear of the ramp. Then the design can be easily transported to any place.

You will also have to provide some kind of ramp protection, since you cannot leave the building for a long time in bad weather conditions. The material will become wet and the entire structure will deform.

True, there is an option to paint the ramp under the skateboard with some kind of stable enamel. There are many such paints. Perhaps, to protect the product from the weather, a canvas cover will help. It is quite possible to sew it if desired.

In general, making a springboard for skateboarding does not require too much effort and financial investment. The cost of building a ramp is inexpensive. And if the materials used in the construction of the springboard remained in the house, then you can completely keep silent about the costs. But the main result.
